JILI77 Tongits Go: Deal, Melds, Draw, Fight and Burn
Tongits Go is JILI's card game built on the Filipino game Tongits: you draw, make melds and discard until someone goes out with Tongits, calls a draw, or a fight is settled by the lowest card points.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| JILI77 Color Game Casino | A color game casino version keeps the perya bet, a colour staked against three dice, but moves the draw to a random number generator or a live dealer on camera. |
| JILI77 Color Game Dice Board | On a three-dice, six-colour board your colour shows on one die 75 times in 216, on two dice 15 times in 216 and on all three once in 216. |
| JILI77 Dragon Tiger Odds | Dealt one card each from a 52-card deck, Dragon wins 24 times in 51 (47.06 percent), Tiger wins 24 times in 51 and the cards tie 3 times in 51 (5.88 percent). |
| JILI77 In Between Card Game | In the in between card game you see two cards, then bet that a third card ranks strictly between them. |
| JILI77 Pusoy Card Ranking | Pusoy ranks cards from Ace down to 2 and, in the Pusoy Dos shedding game, uses spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds as the suit order. |
| JILI77 Pusoy Go | Pusoy Go deals each player thirteen cards that you set into a front hand of 3, a middle hand of 5 and a back hand of 5. |
| JILI77 Sic Bo Payout | Sic Bo uses three dice, so every bet is a count out of 216 outcomes. |
Tongits Go takes the most played card game in Filipino homes and puts it on a screen: you draw, you build melds, and you race to empty your hand before anyone else does. It is one of the baraha games in the card section you will meet in a lobby’s card section. This page walks through a hand from the deal to Tongits, a draw or a fight, and tells you where the stake and pot rules live. If you prefer a game where you arrange the cards once and compare them, the Pusoy Go rules cover the thirteen-card alternative.
What JILI says about Tongits Go
JILI’s own game page for Tongits Go gives a short description, and the table below lists what it states. Nothing else about the product is quoted here, because the stake and pot figures are printed on the game’s rules screen.
| Feature | What JILI’s page says |
|---|---|
| Publish time | November 2022 |
| Players | You compete against three other players |
| Settlements | Three types of victory settlement |
| Extras | Special hand rewards with high multipliers |
Traditional Tongits is a three-player game, so a four-seat table changes the deal. Open the game’s rules screen for the exact deal and the settlement names. JILI is one of six studios in the lobby’s Kard sa laro section, and the JILI studio profile lists what else it makes.
How a Tongits Go hand runs
A hand follows the same loop in the traditional game, and the numbered steps below describe it. Your table’s rules screen governs where it differs.
- Deal. The dealer receives one more card than the other players, and the rest of the deck becomes the stock.
- Draw. On your turn you take the top stock card, or you take the top of the discard pile when it completes a meld with cards in your hand.
- Meld. You may lay down sets and runs face up, which also protects you from being burned.
- Sapaw. You may add a card to a meld already on the table, your own or an opponent’s.
- Discard. You end the turn by putting one card on the discard pile.
- Finish. The hand ends with Tongits, a draw or a fight, described further down.
Melds in Tongits Go
A meld is a group of cards that scores nothing against you. Only two kinds exist.
| Meld | Cards | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Set | 3 or 4 cards of one rank | 7 of hearts, 7 of clubs, 7 of spades |
| Run | 3 or more cards of one suit in order | 4, 5, 6 of diamonds |
The Ace counts low, so Ace-2-3 is a run. Melds are rare in a random hand: of the 22,100 possible three-card hands, 52 are sets and 44 are runs of three, so only 96 of 22,100 (0.43 percent) are melds on their own. That is why you build them over several draws.
Card points
Cards that stay in your hand outside a meld count against you in a draw or fight.
| Card | Points |
|---|---|
| Ace | 1 |
| 2 to 10 | Face value |
| Jack, Queen, King | 10 each |
A hand left with a King, a 9 and an Ace holds 10 plus 9 plus 1, which is 20 points.
Tongits, draw, fight and burn
The way a hand ends decides who wins and who pays. The traditional game has four outcomes, and your table names its own settlements on the rules screen.
| Outcome | When it happens | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Tongits | A player melds every card in their hand | That player wins |
| Draw | The stock runs out or a player calls it | Lowest card points win |
| Fight | A player challenges after another calls draw | The lowest points win, a fold loses |
| Burn | A player has shown no meld when the hand ends | That player loses by default |
A fight only starts when a player with a meld on the table calls a draw and another player chooses to challenge instead of folding. Challenge only when your card points are low, because the lowest count takes the fight. The size of each payment is on the rules screen, not on this page.
Where the stake and pot rules are
The stake, the pot and the special hand rewards belong to the game, and the game prints them. Open Tongits Go, find its rules or help screen and read it before the first hand. If the title is not on the page you reach, search the Kard sa laro section of the lobby, since JILI is one of the six studios listed there.
FAQ
What is Tongits Go?
It is a JILI card title based on the Filipino game Tongits. JILI's own game page lists November 2022 as its publish time and says you compete against three other players.
How do you win a Tongits hand?
You win by going out with Tongits, which means every card in your hand sits in a meld, or by holding the lowest card points in a draw or fight. A player who is burned loses by default. The details of each settlement are on the game's rules screen.
What is a meld in Tongits?
A meld is either a set of three or four cards of the same rank, or a run of three or more cards of the same suit in order. In the traditional game the Ace counts low, so Ace-2-3 is a run and Queen-King-Ace is not.
Where is the pot and stake explained?
On the game's own rules screen, which prints the stake, the pot and the extra rewards for special hands. This page does not state any of those figures.
