Mahjong slots are tile-themed games where winning symbols cascade away and new ones fall in, and the two that matter most are Mahjong Ways and Mahjong Ways 2. Both come from PG Soft, whose game data supplies every figure below. Start with the wider popular slot games ranking if you are still choosing a genre.
Mahjong Ways slot: what the data shows
The Mahjong Ways cascade figures describe a 5x4 grid evaluated as 1,024 ways to win. That number is arithmetic: four rows across five reels gives 4 to the power of 5, which is 1,024. Per PG Soft’s published game data the RTP is 96.92%, the volatility is medium and the maximum win is 25,000x.
Free spins are the engine. Three scatters give 12 spins, and each scatter beyond three adds 2 more, so five scatters give 12 plus 4, which is 16 spins. The multiplier grows with every cascade, reaches 10x and does not reset during the round.
Mahjong Ways vs Mahjong Ways 2
| Figure | Mahjong Ways | Mahjong Ways 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Ways to win | 1,024 | 2,000 |
| RTP | 96.92% | 96.95% |
| Max win | 25,000x | 100,000x |
Volatility reads medium on both, and the grid stays 5x4. The second game adds an avalanche cascade and golden tiles that turn into wilds as they fall. Its RTP moves by 0.03 points while the published ceiling quadruples, so the extra headroom is paid for in rarity. The Mahjong Ways 2 avalanche details cover the maximum win in full.
Why a mahjong slot plays differently from a payline game
A payline game checks fixed paths. A ways game checks every neighbouring match from the left, and the ways to win meaning is simply the count of those paths. The consequence is steadier hit frequency, with each hit paying less, and long cascade chains carrying the value because the multiplier keeps rising.
- Watch the multiplier, not the single win.
- Judge a session by whole chains, not by individual spins.
- Read the 100,000x figure as a published ceiling rather than a target.
To find either game, open the Slot section of the lobby, choose the PG studio and search the title. Read the info screen of Mahjong Ways or Mahjong Ways 2 for its rules before you stake.
FAQ
What is the RTP of Mahjong Ways?
PG Soft's published game data gives 96.92% for Mahjong Ways and 96.95% for Mahjong Ways 2. The visible field on the game page shows a dash, so the number lives in the data the page sends.
Is Mahjong Ways 2 a bigger version of the first game?
It is a separate listing with its own mathematics: 2,000 ways instead of 1,024, an avalanche cascade, and a published maximum of 100,000x instead of 25,000x.
Do mahjong slots use paylines?
No. They evaluate ways to win: matching symbols on consecutive reels from the left count in any row, so no fixed line has to be traced.
Where do I play mahjong slots?
Open the Slot section of the lobby after login, choose PG and search for the title. Read the info screen of the version you open for its rules.
